The Early Childhood Development intervention is a service-strengthening intervention.
We work alongside the Department of Women and Child Development to add onto a Government initiative known as Anganwadi centres. Anganwadi centres are where children between the ages of 0 to 6 years spend their time while their parents work.
Intensive capacity-based training is provided to Anganwadi workers with focus on building perspective in early childhood education. They are given hands on experience to conduct age appropriate activities for all-round development of children, maintaining hygiene and practical methods of teaching. We also hold demonstration camps on nutrition and conduct home visits regularly for parents.
Our ECD intervention comprises of two programmes – Early Childhood Education and Nutrition.
Since the ECD intervention began, we have scaled to
13,332 Anganwadi
centres across Hyderabad Karnataka Region Board.
The pre-school education programme is a combination of our train-the-trainer model alongside improving materials and classrooms for the young ones. By adding to the variety of teaching and learning materials and developing the skills of Anganwadi workers, we help workers with conducting creative activities for the children.
ExploreWe consistently monitor the growth of young children aged between 6 months to 5 years, to help identify Severely Malnourished Children (SAM) at grass root level. These children are then provided with support via case referrals to health services.
